# Google Postmaster Tools deliverability report

See what Gmail reports about mail from your sending domains: spam rate, mail refused, and whether SPF, DKIM and DMARC pass, beside what SendBeam recorded.

Everything else in SendBeam reports what we observed when your email was sent. The
**Deliverability** page is the one place that shows what the receiving side
thinks: Gmail's own figures from Google Postmaster Tools. Open it from **Deliverability**
under Insights in the sidebar, or from **Settings → Deliverability**.

## What it shows

- **Spam rate**: the share of your mail that Gmail users marked as spam.
- **Refused by Gmail**: the share Gmail would not accept.
- **SPF / DKIM / DMARC**: how much of your mail passed each check on arrival.
- **What we recorded**: SendBeam's own bounce and complaint figures for the last 30 days, beside Gmail's.

The two sources measure different things and can disagree: ours is what the sending provider
told us happened, Gmail's is what real recipients did. Both are worth watching.

## Setting it up

1. In [Google Postmaster Tools](https://postmaster.google.com), add and
verify each sending domain with the Google account you will connect. SendBeam cannot do this
  step for you.
2. In SendBeam, open **Deliverability** and click **Connect Google Postmaster Tools** (or choose it under **Settings → Connections**), and approve
access. Only workspace admins can connect it.

Only the domains this workspace has verified under **Settings → Sending** are
shown, so a Google account that covers several workspaces reports each domain only where it
belongs. How connections work in general is on [App connections](https://sendbeam.io/docs/integrations/connections).

## Reading the figures

Google asks senders to keep the spam rate under 0.3% and to aim for under
0.1%. Those are Google's published thresholds, not SendBeam's: they are the
numbers the receiving side acts on. A day at or over the higher one is shown in bold.

## Recent days

Below the summary, **Recent days** lists each domain's figures day by day, newest
first, 25 days to a page. Search by domain, or narrow it to a range of days; the search stays in
the page's address, so a filtered view can be bookmarked or shared.

## When nothing shows

Google publishes its statistics about two days behind, and only for a domain that is verified in
Postmaster Tools and sent enough mail to Gmail that day to be measured. A new connection, or a
domain that sends little, can therefore show **Nothing yet** for a while. If a check
fails, the page says so under the figures.
