# The SendBeam app for iPhone and Android

The SendBeam app for iPhone and Android: set up, answer replies, send emails and add contacts from your phone, with the account you already use.

The SendBeam app is SendBeam on your phone. It signs in to the same account as the web, with the
same workspaces, contacts, campaigns and permissions, so anything you do in the app is there on the
web straight away, and the other way round.

You can set up a new account from the app, answer replies, approve and send emails, add contacts
(one at a time, from a business card or in bulk), share a sign-up form, turn on automations and get
notified when something needs you.

## Get the app

The store links are on the [SendBeam apps](https://sendbeam.io/apps) page, with a QR code to open the app from
a computer.

- **iPhone** — iOS 17.4 or later. On an iPad the iPhone app runs at phone size.
- **Android** — phones. Tablets and Chromebooks aren't supported yet.

The app follows your phone's light or dark setting unless you choose one under
**Settings → Appearance**.

## Find your way around

The app has five tabs:

- **Home** — the steps to get set up, your numbers at a glance and shortcuts to create things. See [Getting set up](https://sendbeam.io/docs/mobile/getting-set-up).
- **Activity** — everything that happened in your workspaces, with what needs you at the top. See [Notifications and activity](https://sendbeam.io/docs/mobile/notifications).
- **Inbox** — replies to your emails and mail to your own addresses. See [Inbox and replies](https://sendbeam.io/docs/mobile/inbox).
- **Contacts** — everyone in the workspace, and the way in to add more. See [Contacts, lists and tags](https://sendbeam.io/docs/mobile/contacts).
- **Campaigns** — your emails: drafts, scheduled and sent. See [Writing and sending emails](https://sendbeam.io/docs/mobile/campaigns).

The round workspace button at the top right of each tab opens **Workspaces**, with
**Settings**, **Help & Support**, **Open SendBeam on the Web**
and **Sign Out** below the list (see [Settings, plan and help](https://sendbeam.io/docs/mobile/settings-and-help)). Forms, automations, templates, lists, tags and your brand
are under **Your tools** on Home.

## Workspaces

Every workspace you belong to is listed under **Workspaces**, with your role in it and
how many unread items it has. Tap one to switch. The app remembers its own current workspace, so
switching on your phone never changes the workspace you have open on the web.

A workspace whose sending is paused shows **Sending paused**; you can still look around.
A workspace whose security rules your phone doesn't meet, such as single sign-on, two-step
verification or approved networks only, says what it needs instead of opening.

Opening a notification switches to the workspace it came from. The **Activity** tab can
show all workspaces at once.

## Roles and permissions

Your role in each workspace (Admin, Member or Reviewer, see [Team management](https://sendbeam.io/docs/admin/team))
applies in the app exactly as on the web. The app only offers what your role can do: a reviewer can
read and approve campaigns but not send them, and only an admin sees plan usage or changes the sender.
When something isn't available, the app says why, for example that the inbox isn't on for the
workspace or that your role doesn't include it.

If a workspace needs a reviewer to approve campaigns, the app follows that too: a member asks for
approval, and a reviewer approves from the phone. See [Approval](https://sendbeam.io/docs/mobile/campaigns#approval).

## What stays on the web

A few things are set up only on the web, and the app links to them where they come up:

- Adding and verifying a sending or receiving domain ([Sending domain](https://sendbeam.io/docs/getting-started/sending-domain)).
- Building and editing segments, and designing forms in the form builder.
- Emails written in HTML, and the email builder's advanced blocks (columns, polls, video and others). In the app you can still change the subject, preview and send them.
- Automation branches, webhooks and other advanced steps.
- Billing, plans, the team, API keys, integrations and workspace settings.

## Privacy

The app has no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting tools, and doesn't track you across other
apps. It asks for the camera, your photos or your phone's contacts only when you use a feature that
needs them, and it sees only the contacts you pick. See the
[Privacy Policy](https://sendbeam.io/legal/privacy) for what SendBeam keeps.
